There’s a gap in posts because I found out Monday morning the reason my side hurt all last weekend was because I had a kidney infection. Normally I write these updates Monday night, but instead I was in the ER getting fluids and antibiotics through an IV. (Dear readers who could develop a UTI: if you think you may have one, get checked out immediately. If you don’t get yourself checked out, a kidney infection is in your future. Kidney infections are awful.)

I did add a little to the family trees and worked on the monster side of the Big 10, but mostly I worked and slept and tried to pretend like it didn’t bother me that my kidney still felt swollen after four days of antibiotics. I also attended LadiesCon on Saturday, which was a lovely way to patronize local artists and hear new opinions on various geeky things (like fanfiction, cosplaying, and women in comics retail).
