One of Those Sexy Plans Bears Fruit
At the beginning of the year I backed a bunch of Kickstarters (as I may have mentioned in my previous post). The first one was for People of Colo(u)r Destroy Science Fiction. One of the backer levels included an hour-long conversation with Nalo Hopkinson (Sister Mine, Report From Planet Midnight) and since I find her work to be thought-provoking and everything I’ve read that she’s published to be eloquent, I jumped at the chance.
The anthology that Hopkinson and Kristine Ong Muslim guest-edited, People of Colo(u)r Destroy Science Fiction, came out on June 1st and is available here: http://www.destroysf.com/. I’m so excited to dig in (as soon as I find my Kobo and enough space to lounge that also doesn’t have a view of unpacked boxes from my recent move). I’ll post about it in What I’m Reading when I do.
People of Colo(u)r will be destroying other genres that I dig: horror and fantasy. The horror deadline passed a few weeks back, but People of Colo(u)r Destroy Fantasy is accepting stories until June 15th.
