Camp NaNoWriMo/General Update

The number of words that I have written for the Sandbox this month is a whopping zero. Instead I’ve been sucked into the rabbit hole of researching. Specifically researching West African mythologies to give some depth to the deities, religions, monsters, and other supernatural beings that will inhabit this world.

I started No Plot, No Problem! and in it, writer Christ Baty recommends researching for up to a month and then writing for a month. At this point in the month of non-stop writing I’d planned where I’ve done more research then writing, I’m going to agree with Baty and finish out research this month and write the world into existence next month.

That also works out better anyway since my day job recently got caught up on work and optional over time (where we got paid time and a half for all hours worked over forty) has come to an end.

I’m not going to post the research notes here since that’s not really the point of this blog. Plus it’s mostly fast research done with Wikipedia, so I’d rather not embarrass myself with what potentially faulty information.
